HSE CONSULTANT – CONTRACT POSITION

Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. is currently looking for qualified candidates for the role of HSE CONSULTANT - CONTRACT POSITION

Job Summary:

Torxen is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment consultant to provide support to the Health, Safety, and Environmental team with the development and implementation of Torxen’s HSE Management System (TOMS).

This Consultant will provide services relating to practice and policy development, updates, and training, as well as regulatory reporting, incident documentation and statistics, and corrective action tracking.  The Consultant will also analyze incident and hazard management data pulled from Torxen’s incident reporting and hazard assessment system.

This Consultant will also be the primary point of contact for HSE analytical and performance measurement data and provides administrative support to the HSE department in relation to training systems, incident reporting, environmental reporting, and general HSE support.

Relationships:

Reports directly to the Torxen QHSE Manager.

  • Interacts with Field HSE and Environmental Advisors, as well as the Compliance, Regulatory and Environmental Manager.

  • Interacts with the business and operations staff through the QC process, when data mining and preparing incident and hazard management reports and statistics.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating practice and policy development, updates, and training for the Torxen HSE Management System.

  • Administrative support to the HSE department in relation to training systems, incident reporting, environmental reporting and waste management, and general HSE support.

  • Continuous improvement and action item tracking with feedback to operations.

  • Overseeing and coordinates document management.

  • Technical writing support.

  • Managing HSE element of on/off-boarding employees and contractors.

  • Managing team HSE SharePoint and Training site.

  • Collecting and analyzing data related to hazard identifications, and incident investigations. Interacting with employee-partners to ensure reports are completed with the appropriate information, including recommendations and corrective actions.

  • Collecting and analyzing data used for compiling company safety statistics/trends and maintains reports as required.

  • Technical writing and document management support.

  • Administration of the Work Alone, Training and PPE ordering systems.

  • Assisting in the maintenance of the Calgary Fire Warden Program and maintenance and monthly inspections of all Calgary office fire extinguishers, first aid kits and AED units.

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a QHSE role

  • Formal health and safety education would be considered an asset.

  • Field experience would be considered an asset

  • Excellent computer skills – PPT and Excel

  • Technical writing experience

  • Proactive

  • Strong Communication skills

  • Analytical
