Modern Slavery
The Government of Canada’s, Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, referred to as the “Modern Slavery Act” requires entities to publicly report on measures taken to identify, evaluate and mitigate its exposure to the use of forced labor and child labor in its corporate supply chains.
Torxen publishes annual reports on the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain.
ESTMA Reporting
On June 1, 2015, the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (“the Act”) was brought into effect by the Canadian government. The Act requires companies in the business of commercial development of crude oil, natural gas and minerals, such as Torxen, to publicly disclose, on an annual basis, specific payments made to all governments in Canada and abroad.
The legislation is administered by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). ESTMA legislation and more information on NRCan’s activities, including links to all filed ESTMA reports, can be found on NRCan’s website.
