OPERATIONS ACCOUNTANT

Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. is currently looking for qualified candidates for the role of Operations Accountant reporting to the Treasurer.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Cost analysis, forecasting, process journal entries and accruals related to Operations, monthly reporting and analysis of results

  • Maintain Surface and Mineral rental amortization

  • Assist with annual Orphan Well Levy and Admin Fee

  • Reconcile and analyze data presented on monthly account reconciliations

  • Interact with operations regarding financial reporting, statistical results and analysis

  • Identify, assess and assist with implementation of cost savings initiatives

  • Assist the external auditors in performing year-end audits and quarterly reviews of financial statements as required

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of oil and gas experience

  • Experience in full cycle of accounting on various Alberta oil and gas properties would be an asset

  • A degree in Accounting or Business Administration

  • Proficient with Qbyte FM

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Effective communicator

  • Independent learner

  • Team player

  • Ability to evaluate contractual obligations
