Contract Operator

Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. a new and quickly growing Oil and Gas company in the Brooks and Drumheller areas, the Palliser block, is currently looking for qualified candidates for the role of Contract Operator.

About this Opportunity:

The Torxen team operating out of the Brooks area has an immediate opportunity for a Contract Operator/s.  Reporting to the Superintendent, Production and getting regular direction from the Senior Operator, the primary responsibility of this position is to effectively participate as a team member in the safe operation and maintenance of our oil and gas wells and associated facilities in the Brooks, Alberta area. The Operations team ensures the maximum performance of mechanical, instrumentation and facilities, while managing the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, compression facilities and oil facilities, adhering to all applicable regulations and corporate guidance.


  • Responsible for assisting the Operations Team manage the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, oil facilities and gas compression facilities
  • Provide well and facility monitoring and maintenance
  • Complete production accounting with PVR
  • Assist with production optimization, trouble shooting and equipment maintenance
  • Work in a team atmosphere and take on a variety of operating challenges
  • Willing to work extra hours and be on-call as required
  • Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities, such as hazard identification, equipment lockout, emergency response and safe work procedures
  • Identify and scope out opportunities to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime
  • Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring and maintenance activities

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to relevant A&D policy requirements, including pre-assignment testing
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (drivers abstract is required)
  • First Aid, CPR, TDG, WHMIS and H2S certifications
  • Working knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite is an asset
  • Prior experience as a Field Operator within the Oil and Gas industry is an asset
