Capital and Operating Accountant
Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. is currently looking for qualified candidates for the role of Capital and Operating Accountant reporting to the Manager, Operations Accounting.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Cost analysis, forecasting, process journal entries and accruals related to Operations and Capital records, monthly reporting and analysis of results
- AFE and Cost center setup
- Reconcile and analyze data presented on monthly account recs
- Interact with operations regarding financial reporting, statistical results and analysis
- Implement process controls, master data management and assist in continuous process improvement
- Assist the external auditors in performing year-end audits and quarterly reviews of financial statements as required
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of oil and gas experience
- Experience in full cycle of capital/fixed assets/property accounting on various Alberta oil and gas properties would be an asset
- A degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- request for capital funding, to approval, to construction and establishment of the asset, to asset maintenance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator
- Independent learner
- Team player
- Working knowledge of Qbyte financial and the ability to troubleshoot issues on these systems would be an asset
- Ability to evaluate contractual obligations
