Capital and Operating Accountant

Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. is currently looking for qualified candidates for the role of Capital and Operating Accountant reporting to the Manager, Operations Accounting.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Cost analysis, forecasting, process journal entries and accruals related to Operations and Capital records, monthly reporting and analysis of results
  • AFE and Cost center setup
  • Reconcile and analyze data presented on monthly account recs
  • Interact with operations regarding financial reporting, statistical results and analysis
  • Implement process controls, master data management and assist in continuous process improvement
  • Assist the external auditors in performing year-end audits and quarterly reviews of financial statements as required

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of oil and gas experience
  • Experience in full cycle of capital/fixed assets/property accounting on various Alberta oil and gas properties would be an asset
  • A degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • request for capital funding, to approval, to construction and establishment of the asset, to asset maintenance
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective communicator
  • Independent learner
  • Team player
  • Working knowledge of Qbyte financial and the ability to troubleshoot issues on these systems would be an asset
  • Ability to evaluate contractual obligations
