Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd., is a new and quickly growing private Oil and Gas company in the Brooks and Drumheller areas of Alberta, the Palliser Block, which currently has a 4-month Calgary-based head office opportunity for a university student majoring in Geology, starting on May 1, 2022. This opportunity has the chance of becoming long term employment - the candidate must be either in their 3rd year or completing their university degree this year.
About this Opportunity:
As an Intern, you will be given the opportunity to apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting on any number of projects. Reporting to the Staff Geologist, the primary responsibility of this position is to effectively participate as a team member in the evaluation of potential new lands adjacent to, or evaluating lands within, Torxen freehold properties.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills along with a passion for learning.
Responsibilities may include:
Integrate surface and subsurface data into cross-sections and maps
Interpret well log, well test and/or core, or seismic information to describe interval of interest
Summarize your findings into a report
Ability to utilize computer-based geologic data sets and mapping tools
Work closely with other G&G and Engineering team members
Qualifications:
3rd Year engineering student or completing university this year, proof of education will be required.
Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
Working knowledge of Geoscout and/or Accumap preferred
Other Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Well-developed communication skills
Ability to effectively work independently and within a team environment
