Summer Student - Field Based Engineer/Technologist

Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. a new and growing Oil and Gas company is currently looking for Engineering/Technology Students or Recent Graduates for summer employment for our field operations located in the Brooks and Drumheller areas.

About this Summer Student Opportunity:

Reporting to a Senior Operator, the primary responsibility of this position is to participate as a team member in the safe operation and maintenance of our oil and gas wells and associated facilities in our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Operations Team to manage the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, oil facilities and gas compression facilities

• Assist with production optimization, trouble shooting and equipment maintenance

• Work in a team environment and take on a variety of operating challenges

• Understand and perform safety, environment and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout, emergency response and safe work procedures

• Identify and scope out opportunities to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime

• Perform maintenance activities as required

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Engineering/Technology student or recent graduate, proof of education will be required

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to relevant Alcohol & Drug policy requirements, including pre-assignment testing

• Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (drivers abstract is required)

• Working knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite is an asset

• First Aid and CPR certifications are an asset
